TIME FOR BIOTECH COMPANIES IN THE DEVELOPING WORLD TO LEVERAGE ON OPPORTUNITIES IN NASDAQ.

Biotechnology is arguably our future. As the world gets more concerned about climate change and global warming (just to mention a few),the attention of many investors are turning to the brilliant ideas and potentials imbued in biotech companies largely because their solutions tend to be environmentally friendly and out of the box in terms of innovation.
Today, biotech companies working on producing biofuels of the future that can power our machines and automobiles derived from organisms like algae are taking giant strides, thanks to the investor Dollars,Pounds, and Euros courtesy of stock exchanges like Nasdaq.
Nasdaq for one,is the foremost stock exchange that tech companies like Facebook, Google and Apple love to trade on, biotech companies looking to raise the much needed capital to expand and or continue their ground breaking research have found a partner in Nasdaq.
A classic example of the magic wand wielded by Nasdaq is the much celebrated capital several Israeli biotech companies have been able to raise through Nasdaq;capital that they wouldn't have been able to raise if they had confined there search or focus on the Israeli capital market only.
Nasdaq as a stock exchange may be based in the USA but it offers a level playing ground to biotech companies looking to raise capital from other parts of the globe.
So an Indian biotech company working on producing nutritious animal feed from insects or a magic pill that can burn out cancer cells without surgery based anywhere in Africa, Asia, or South America can impress some investor looking to invest in the next big thing via Nasdaq.
There is a need for biotech startups located in developing countries to stop being obsessed about getting funding and support from their home governments or local banks-for one, governments in many developing economies are grappling with the global economic downturn and what's more, the interest rates on loans charged by many local banks are not friendly to the growth of biotech companies.
The veil is off and biotech companies with brilliant innovations that can make our lives better anywhere in the world can trade on the Nasdaq and raise enough money to make their dreams come true for our good.
I hope African biotech companies can hear this clarion call loud and clear!
